The story of THIS photographer

I've been the gal taking pictures since I can remember getting my hands on a camera.

What started with a point-and-shoot camera in middle school has transformed into decades of capturing moments, for fun, for purpose - and for the people and places I care about the most. My passion for visual storytelling landed me into training on how to develop a roll of 35mm film in a dark room; becoming one of the staff photographers on the Churchill Highschool Yearbook; and eventually the Multimedia Editor of the Wayne State University Newspaper - The South End.

The more I grew as a photographer, the more I was able to add to my collection of equipment, and my curiosity to learn, and travel - and mostly explore my new home, Detroit. After working as a photojournalist both at a paper, and then in a freelance capacity, I shifted my work to focus on people and urban landscapes.

In addition to photography, I am a marketing & communications professional, an urban planner and a sustainability & climate professional. With the urgency of the climate crisis around us, I am privileged to have a camera in hand, to help tell stories that help capture what this pivotal moment in time looks like.

My background and diverse set of experiences has allowed me to work with a number of professionals, families, new additions to families, organizations and events and even pets. Specializing in intimate weddings, engagements, professional portraits, family photos, business photography and lifestyle photography, I look forward to working with you on your next special day.

Never hesitate to reach out with questions - I can't wait to hear from you!

Yours in love, peace and solidarity,

Kristin
